Job summary

Talent Stack is hiring a Platform DevOps Engineer II to design, build, and sustain scalable cloud infrastructure for a critical national asset. You will work with Platform Engineers, Systems Administrators, and Software Engineers to maintain compute, network, and storage infrastructure across development, integration, and production environments.

This hands‑on role emphasizes Red Hat Linux, AWS, Infrastructure as Code, automation, DevSecOps, security, and platform reliability, with Day 1 TS/SCI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM disciplines.
• Up to 5 years of related infrastructure/DevOps experience.
• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph required on Day 1.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat Linux.
• Cloud-based infrastructure design, preferably AWS.
• DoD 8570 IAT II requirements (Security+ CE or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, configure, and support cloud-based platform and infrastructure environments.
• Support infrastructure across build, integration & test, and production environments.
• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
• Build and integrate cloud infrastructure using AWS.
• Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, and Chef.
• Improve platform scalability, reliability, consistency, and deployment efficiency.
• Support compute, networking, storage, and virtualization environments.
• Partner with Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Systems Administrators, and Agile development teams.
• Incorporate security controls including encryption, access management, and compliance requirements.
• Support DevSecOps processes and automated software delivery environments.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues and provide ongoing operational support.
• Contribute to platform modernization through emerging cloud and automation technologies

About the Opportunity

Talent Stack is supporting a premier defense and aerospace program seeking a Platform DevOps Engineer II to help build, modernize, and sustain mission-critical cloud infrastructure supporting a critical national asset.

You’ll work alongside Platform Engineers, Systems Administrators, Software Engineers, and other technical teams to design and maintain scalable compute, network, and storage infrastructure across development, integration/test, and production environments.

This is a hands‑on infrastructure role with a strong focus on Red Hat Linux, AWS, Infrastructure as Code, automation, DevSecOps, security, and platform reliability.

What You’ll Do

• Design, integrate, configure, and support cloud-based platform and infrastructure environments
• Support infrastructure across build, integration & test, and production environments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Physics, or another STEM discipline
• Up to 5 years of related infrastructure, platform, systems, or DevOps experience
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph required on Day 1
• Hands‑on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Linux
• Experience designing, implementing, or integrating cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS
• Experience with infrastructure automation/configuration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and/or Chef
• Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements, such as Security+ CE or an equivalent certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing and troubleshooting servers, networks, storage, and virtualization technologies
• Experience developing, testing, or delivering solutions within a DevSecOps environment
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services
• Experience designing and securing scalable cloud infrastructure
• Background supporting highly available, mission‑critical systems
