Job summary

General Dynamics - IT is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to design and develop AWS-based solutions and promote a DevOps culture across project teams on customer site in McLean, VA. You will build modular cloud infrastructure, automate deployments with Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible, and work with AWS services, Docker, GitHub and Jenkins in an Agile Scrum setting.

TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in DevOps and cloud environments.
• Proven ability to design modular cloud-based systems and IaC.
• Experience with AWS services and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systems in AWS.

Job description

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced DevOps Engineer to design and develop AWS-based solutions. In this role you will work across several small project teams in helping to shape a DevOps culture. REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Ability to design, develop, and deploy modular cloud-based systemsExperience with provisioning infrastructure as code (IaC) using languages such as Python.
• Implementing comprehensive DevOps strategies and application requirements.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing DevOps tools, such as GitHub and Jenkins, to enable continuous integration and continuous deliveryExperience with DevOps/Platforms: Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS,CloudFormation, etc.), Docker,Ansible.
• Experience in design, developing IaC using Terraform/Cloud Formation/Ansible supporting a multi-cloud deploymentIdentify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
• Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements and cost efficiencies.
• Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with customer best practices and guidance.
• Demonstrated experience working with Agile Scrum based development team.
• Experience with interacting with clients, provide cloud support, and make recommendations based on customer needsDeveloping capabilities and updates for Linux-based applications in AWS cloud environmentsEnsuring recovery, supporting testing, and conducting O&M activities.Ensuring that performance, security, and other requirements are met.Supporting Security personnel in obtaining and maintaining ATO.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience using multiple languages and frameworks (e.g. Python, Java, JavaScript, Vue, or others)
• Demonstrated experience with developing in Ruby/Ruby on Rails;
