Job summary

Jobtailor in Salt Lake City is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and operate data pipelines and build the web apps that present data to stakeholders.

You will own features end-to-end—from source to screen—collaborating with geoscience teams, ensuring data quality, and delivering scalable solutions on AWS or GCP with Kubernetes and IaC tooling. You will leverage AI-assisted workflows to accelerate delivery and maintain observability and security across the stack.

Qualifications

• Full-stack backend and frontend experience with end-to-end ownership.
• Data engineering: pipelines, schemas, data quality, and idempotency.
• Collaborative product-minded approach with stakeholders.
• Cloud and IaC fluency, containerized deployments.
• Ability to work independently and leverage AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate end-to-end data pipelines.
• Build dashboards and internal apps to deliver data.
• Collaborate with geoscience teams to translate questions into data products.
• Own system architecture, pipelines, APIs, and frontend interfaces.
