Recruiting from Scratch is partnering with a Series C AI startup to recruit a Software Engineer for Platform backends in San Francisco. You will shape core services powering contracts, payouts, identity management, and platform reliability.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years shipping production backend systems, strong Python or Go skills, API design expertise, and a ownership mindset to tackle scalable infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years shipping production backend systems at scale.
• Strong backend skills in Python or Go.
• Experience designing APIs and scalable data models.
• Ownership mindset and ability to work through ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain core backend systems for contracts, payouts, and fraud workflows.
• Design identity and access management for just-in-time access across the platform.
• Translate operational requirements into scalable backend services.
• Improve system reliability, security, and performance across infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to support platform initiatives.
• Contribute to internal tooling and platform improvements for developer productivity.
• Operate in a fast-moving environment across teams and priorities.
