Job summary

Aspida Financial Services, LLC is seeking a Platform Architect to lead the target-state architecture behind transforming how annuity and retirement products are serviced and distributed.

You will partner with business, product, and technology stakeholders to design scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions aligned with Aspida’s strategic objectives. This role is onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in core financial services architecture, design and solution delivery.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking skills.
• Experience building financial, accounting, insurance or regulated systems with enterprise controls.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and modern web application technologies.
• Understanding of security architecture principles including authentication and encryption.
• Experience with SDLC, Agile, DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong written communication and ability to create architecture artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Lead target-state architecture and guide technology roadmaps for modernization efforts.
• Create and maintain solution architecture artifacts, design documentation and decision records.
• Provide architectural oversight from concept through implementation and production support.
• Assess emerging technologies and trends to recommend innovative solutions.
• Facilitate workshops and design sessions; communicate architectural recommendations clearly.
• Create detailed software architecture diagrams documenting challenges and future-proof solutions.
• Establish architectural patterns, constraints, and non-functional requirements for engineers.
