Job summary

MMD Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Platform Architect to shape the enterprise technology environment and drive modernization across traditional and cloud-based infrastructure.

You will define platform strategy, establish standards, and partner with engineering teams to translate architectural direction into working solutions with security and resiliency at the core.

Our client, a large healthcare organization, is seeking an experienced Platform Architect to help shape the future of its enterprise technology environment.

This individual will play a key role in defining platform strategy, modernizing infrastructure, and designing secure, scalable solutions across a complex enterprise environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in traditional infrastructure and networking while also having modern architecture experience across Infrastructure as Code, automation, and cloud-native technologies.

This is not a purely conceptual architecture position. We’re looking for someone who can think strategically while remaining technically close to the environment, helping define future-state architecture, establishing standards and patterns, and partnering with engineering teams to bring those designs to life.

What You’ll Do:

• Define and evolve enterprise platform and infrastructure architecture, balancing current business needs with long-term technology strategy.
• Design scalable, resilient, and secure solutions across cloud, networking, compute, security, and platform technologies.
• Establish architecture standards, reference patterns, and technical guardrails that can be consistently adopted across the organization.
• Drive modernization efforts across both traditional infrastructure and modern cloud environments.
• Develop and mature Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation practices using technologies such as Terraform.
• Architect cloud networking and connectivity patterns, including VPCs, routing, segmentation, DNS, and secure connectivity.
• Partner closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, application, and engineering teams to turn architectural direction into working solutions.
• Incorporate security, resiliency, availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity into platform designs.
• Evaluate existing technologies and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and modernize the environment.
• Provide technical leadership for complex infrastructure initiatives from initial architecture through implementation.
• Help define future-state architecture and roadmaps while considering scalability, operational supportability, cost, and risk.
• Significant experience in infrastructure, cloud, platform, or enterprise architecture.
• Strong foundation in traditional infrastructure concepts, including networking, compute, storage, security, connectivity, and enterprise systems.
• Hands‑on experience architecting solutions within AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and/or EKS.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts including LAN/WAN, routing, segmentation, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, and cloud networking.
• Experience designing for security, resiliency, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Ability to create architecture standards and translate technical strategy into repeatable implementation patterns.
• Comfortable working across infrastructure, security, cloud, application, and business teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical decisions to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
