Job summary

Booz Allen is seeking a data engineer to develop and deploy data pipelines and analytics platforms. You will organize disparate data and build end-to-end data applications for critical missions.

You will collaborate with analysts, engineers, and data users, delivering scalable solutions in a fast-paced, agile setting. A Secret clearance is required, with compensation tied to location and experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, or data science, delivering enterprise-scale solutions with measurable business impact
• 2+ years of experience breaking down complex problems into technical solutions based on customer requirements
• 1+ years of experience building visualization front ends in the form of analytics dashboards or interactive GUI applications such as web apps
• 1+ years of experience communicating technical solutions to non-technical customers and non-technical stakeholders, including customers and senior leadership
• Experience adhering to, and championing, SDLC best practices, including requirements management, testing, change control, and release processes
• Knowledge of DoW enterprise platforms such as War Data Platform, ADVANA, Palantir Foundry, such as Maven Smart Systems, or Microsoft Power Platform
• Ability to manage tasks and projects independently with minimal guidance and direction
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering

As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll help build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.Here, you’ll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll use your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.

The DoD is looking for individuals with exceptional software development, data engineering, or data science backgrounds who have done outstanding work utilizing tools such as Foundry, Spark, Python, Qlik, Tableau, and web development frameworks such as React. In short, we are seeking a “full-stack” data engineer who is passionate about building data applications from end to end. This includes data engineering back-ends to building interactive front-ends. For example, one of our offices is leading data analytics efforts of logistics data sets for the US Navy. Moreover, we strive to maintain the very best software and data development practices that our clients trust, we are hoping you pride yourself on writing production quality code and finding the story behind the data!

You’ll work closely with clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to put together the pieces of their information puzzle. You’ll work side by side with teammates in classified environments and own the development of analytics systems. You’ll use a variety of different tools and frameworks to turn sets of disparate data points into meaningful answers to advise our clients as they make informed decisions. Ultimately, you’ll bring a deep understanding of data fundamentals to a competitive and challenging data environment to provide the best possible outcomes for our clients.

You Have:

• Experience with Generative AI techniques including LLMs
• Experience with React, Typescript, and Angular frameworks
• Experience writing production-level code for maximal efficiency, speed and reliability
• Experience working with high-ranking military personnel
• Master's degree in a STEM field, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00
