Responsibilities

This positionis responsible forrecruiting eligible donors for first-time platelet donations to support organizational collection goals and inventory needs. The role develops and implements targeted recruitment strategies to increase first-time platelet donations, encourage repeat participation, and support long-term donor retention.

The position provides education and guidance to donors and staff on platelet donation and recruitment best practices, while fostering donor engagement through in-field interactions and targeted, individualized outreach. It alsoparticipatesin the ongoing evaluation of donor recruitment initiatives, using data and performance insights to refine strategies, improve effectiveness, and achieve organizationalobjectives.

Work Environment: This roleoperatesacross multiple settings, including our corporate offices, divisional donor centers, and mobile sites.Regular local travel is required on a weekly basis.

Essential Functions:

• Actively recruits eligible blood donors for first-time platelet donations through donor engagement, education, and targeted, personalized outreach to meet organizational collection goals and inventory needs.Identifiesopportunities to convert whole blood donors into first-time platelet donors based on donor eligibility, organizational priorities, and data-driven insights.

• Regularlyvisitsdonor centers and mobile blood drives to recruit eligible first-time platelet donors, collaborates with collection staff, support donor engagement initiatives, and provides progress and outcome updates to leadership and internal partners.

• Partners with leadership from the Collections team tomonitorplatelet counts,identifyrecruitment opportunities, and coordinate strategies to achieve platelet collection goals

• Implements and follow best practices for donor follow up, including thank you calls, satisfaction surveys and other feedback initiatives to support donor retention and continuous process improvement.

• Analyzes organizational data toidentifytrends, recruitment opportunities, and operational inefficiencies, recommending evidence-based improvements to increase first-time platelet donor recruitment and retention.

• Assistsin the development and implementation of donor and staff promotional initiatives, partnering with the Donor Marketing team, to increase awareness, recruitment, and participation in platelet programs. Serves as a subject matter resource by educating staff, peers, and newly onboarded team members on platelet donation donor recruitment strategies, and best practices Exemplifies the New York Blood Center Enterprises and Donor Engagement mission, vision, and core values by delivering exceptional customer service, fostering collaboration across departmentsand maintainingstrong relationships with donors and Collection team members.

• Identifiesopportunities to improve organizational processes and recommends practical solutions to enhance operational efficiency and donor experience. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degreerequired; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position

Experience:

• Intermediateproficiencywith Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

• 1-2 years of experience in sales, account management, recruitment, customer service healthcare, or related field preferred.

Licenses / Certifications:

• Must have andmaintaina valid local driver’s license.

• Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and effectively use organizational systems, databases, and other software applications.

• Knowledgeofsales and/or customer acquisition, customer engagement, healthcare, or blood industry processes preferred.
