Job summary

CB&I is seeking a Plate Structures Engineer in Illinois to perform and check design calculations for tanks, vessels, foundations and related facilities. You will work with the Plate Structures team to produce deliverables per design codes, ensure constructability, and coordinate with project engineers and managers.

The role requires a Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering degree, 3+ years of experience, and strong written and oral communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of related experience and strong communication skills.
• Technical writing ability and knowledge of design codes.

Responsibilities

• Accurately produce deliverables per design codes, standards and drawings.
• Ensure designs are safe for field erection with constructability in mind.
• Sign off on design calculations, specs and deliverables for client approval.
• Coordinate with project engineers, managers and other team members.
• Forecast task duration and commit to deadlines.
• Possibly obtain and stamp licenses as needed.
