Job summary

Mom's Meals seeks a Line Lead to oversee the production line, guide and back up various Pack Room roles, and ensure smooth line operation. You will coordinate workflow, train new staff, and maintain GMPs and food safety standards.

Responsibilities include setting up lines and equipment, assisting the manager with daily summaries, and coordinating with maintenance to resolve issues. Strong manufacturing experience and leadership are essential.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for all Pack Room positions, guiding and backing up operators and others.
• Walk the line, oversee workflow, place people, coordinate with Manager.
• Ensure line setup including meal setup, labels, and equipment in place.
• Provide backup to Manager in writing the daily summary report.
• Maintain, operate, and sanitize machines and equipment.
• Ensure machine settings are calibrated and train others on operation.
• Troubleshoot machine problems and coordinate with maintenance.
• Ensure proper clean down to prevent cross-contamination.
• Train and coach new employees on tasks.
• Confer with Quality Assurance on questions or concerns.
• Serve as role model for GMPs, food safety, safety and PPE.
• Work as a team with good communication.

Job description

The Line Lead will learn all jobs on the line and be able to step in where needed, and will oversee/drive workflow, troubleshoot issues, and provide backup support to the Pack Room Manager.

Position responsibilities include, but not limited to

• Fill in for all Pack Room positions. Line consists of several interconnected machines and will need to be able to provide both guidance and backup to Machine Operators, Platers, Catchers, Runners, Palletizers, etc
• Walk the line and oversee/drive workflow, help place people where needed, help with communication and coordination, and serve as "go to" person when the Manager is unavailable
• Ensure line is set up correctly (includes meal set up, labels prepared, Unifillers & Vemags in place, scoops and other tools ready, etc.)
• Provide backup to the Manager in writing the daily summary report
• Maintain, control, operate, and sanitize machines and equipment used in operation
• Ensure machine settings are calibrated and train/provide guidance to others on how to properly operate equipment
• Troubleshoot machine problems, make corrections, and/or coordinate with Manager and Maintenance personnel as needed
• Ensure proper clean down and sanitation processes are used when changing meals or lines to ensure no cross-contamination
• Help train and coach new employees on tasks
• Confer with Quality Assurance as needed on questions or concerns
• Serve as role model regarding GMPs, food safety, general safety, and wearing PPE
• Work as a team and maintain good communication

• Experience using forklifts and pallet jacks desired
• Bilingual in (English/Spanish) a plus

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms
• Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen
• Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
