Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of plastics processing/manufacturing experience.
• Strong understanding of plastics processing techniques.
• Proficiency with process simulation software and analytical tools.
• Familiarity with industry quality standards and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize plastics processing parameters.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
• Introduce new technologies and methods to improve production capabilities.
• Diagnose and resolve processing issues using root cause analysis.
• Provide technical support to production during setup and runs.
• Collaborate with maintenance to ensure equipment functionality and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with Quality to establish product quality standards and participate in FMEA.
• Engage with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Work with suppliers to optimize tooling and equipment specifications.
• Train operators and technicians on new equipment and processes.
• Maintain documentation of processing parameters, machine settings, and best practices.
• Generate process performance metrics and provide status updates to management.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering
