Job summary

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering or related discipline, preferably Plastics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years processing experience in injection molding or related plastics manufacturing.
• Familiarity with DOE, SPC, Mold Flow analysis and FMEA.
• Ability to analyze problems and derive data-driven solutions.
• Willingness to commit to long hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mold process development to optimize processes, meeting quality and productivity specs.
• Develop, implement and document procedures for determining and reporting process parameters during production scheduling.
• Establish manufacturing process parameters on molds using mold balance, gate freeze, and viscosity studies.
• Provide direction to supervisors and quality personnel for mold maintenance and repair.
• Create positive customer relationships through sampling results and problem solving.
• Establish, utilize and optimize CIM, translating results into the CIM system.
• Train site personnel in proper use of CIM and related systems.
• Recommend designs for special equipment and support product/process R&D.
• Maintain and instruct on operation of equipment (robots, welders, etc.).
• Evaluate plastic processing and support equipment for productivity, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
• Keep knowledge updated on methods, systems and equipment for continuous improvement.
• Create and maintain accurate documentation on samples, processes, and production items/issues.
