Job summary

Dynamic Tool Corporation is seeking a Plastics Operations Intern to support daily plastic injection molding operations while gaining hands-on experience in production processes, safety practices, and team coordination.

This developmental role works alongside lead operators, process technicians, supervisors, and support teams to help maintain an organized work area, meet production expectations, and address routine operating issues.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; reliability, teamwork, communication or leadership helpful.
• High School diploma required; preferred current student or recent graduate in manufacturing/engineering fields.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordinating daily work assignments and production priorities under leadership.
• Support machine start-up, operator coverage, material flow, handling, packaging, and other production activities.
• Monitor areas for safety, quality, productivity and housekeeping; report issues promptly.
• Verify operators follow work instructions, inspection requirements, and procedures.
• Document production results, scrap, downtime, quality concerns, and shift information.
• Collaborate with lead operators, technicians, quality, material handling, maintenance and supervisors to resolve routine issues.
• Participate in training, rotations, continuous improvement activities, and projects.
• Provide day-to-day assistance to operators and maintain a positive team environment.
• Perform other duties to support department operations.

JOB PROFILE SUMMARY:

The Plastics Operations Intern supports daily plastic injection molding operations while gaining hands‑on experience in production processes, quality requirements, safety practices, and team coordination. This developmental role works alongside lead operators, process technicians, supervisors, and support teams to help maintain an organized work area, meet production expectations, and address routine operating issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

The individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the job duties listed below.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with coordinating daily work assignments and production priorities under the direction of department leadership.
• Support machine start‑up, operator coverage, material flow, part handling, packaging, and other production activities.
• Monitor work areas for safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping concerns and promptly communicate issues.
• Help verify that operators follow work instructions, inspection requirements, and established procedures.
• Assist with documenting production results, scrap, downtime, quality concerns, and shift information.
• Work with lead operators, process technicians, quality, material handling, maintenance, and supervisors to resolve routine issues.
• Participate in training, job rotations, continuous improvement activities, and assigned projects.
• Provide respectful day‑to‑day assistance to operators and help maintain a positive, team‑focused work environment.
• Perform other duties and developmental assignments as needed to support department operations.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience:

• No previous experience is required. Coursework, school activities, prior employment or volunteer experience demonstrating reliability, teamwork, communication or leadership is helpful.

Education:

• High School degree
• Preferred educational background: Current student or recent graduate with an interest in manufacturing, operations, plastics technology, engineering, business or leadership.

Certifications/Tech expertise:

• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn production reporting systems
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures, schedules, and inspection requirements
• Interest in plastic injection molding, manufacturing operations, leadership, or a related technical field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Clear communication and the ability to work respectfully with team members
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow‑through
• Ability to manage changing priorities and ask for guidance when needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to manufacturing environment with noise, heat, and moving machinery.
