Pretium Packaging, L.L.C. is seeking an operator to start up production machines and manage set points across runs, handling extrusion blow mold, extrusion, injection blow mold, molding, labeling and printing tasks.

You will ensure correct materials, perform in-process checks, and respond quickly to line issues while maintaining safety standards. The role involves maintaining cleanliness, supporting training of Technician Operators, and contributing to continuous improvement on the packaging

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in packaging equipment preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience operating packaging/plastics machinery.
• Basic math, reading, and troubleshooting skills.

• Keep machines in top form: clean filters, perform minor maintenance, and monitor conditions while purging.
• Verify sleeves, boxes, labels, and materials by part number to match the running job.
• Perform in-process quality checks and sample inspections to ensure specifications are met.
• Respond quickly to line issues; make precise machine adjustments.
• Document problems, root causes, and solutions; record production and quality data (manual or data collector) and close out each run.
• Maintain a clean, organized area and uphold safety and housekeeping standards at all times.
• Assist in training Technician Operators on job tasks and provide relief during breaks and lunches.
• Tackle related duties and special projects as assigned.
• Be accountable for food safety, food quality, and site safety on every shift.

What you’ll handle

• Start up production machines and confirm machine set points throughout the run.

• Alert your supervisor when repairs or maintenance are needed and re-start machines after work is completed.

• Maintain a clean, organized area and uphold safety and housekeeping standards at all times.
• Assist in training Technician Operators on job tasks and provide relief during breaks and lunches.
• Tackle related duties and special projects as assigned.
• Be accountable for food safety, food quality, and site safety on every shift.

Who you are

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, plus mechanical aptitude/training and technical training on packaging, plastics, and printing equipment.
• Experience: 1–3 years operating machines in the packaging/plastics industry.
• Skills:
  • Language: Read, write, and speak at a basic level.
  • Math: Apply arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry; add, subtract, multiply, divide; calculate fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, variables, and formulas.
  • Reasoning: Solve practical problems with several concrete variables and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
  • Computers: Basic to intermediate skills, including CNC machine use.

Tools and tech you’ll touch

Mechanics tools, calipers, gauges, weight scales, extrusion blow mold machine, extrusion machine, injection mold machine, injection blow mold machine, lining machine, label machine, pad printer, and silk-screen.

Licenses/Certifications

None required; a fork truck license may be required.

Physical and visual demands

• Standing, walking, bending, lifting, moving, talking, hearing, pushing, carrying, reaching, and grasping.
• Normal mental/visual attention and manual coordination; at times, part-time concentrated attention and coordination.
• Visual clarity at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more; ability to focus, judge distance/space, and distinguish colors.
• Light to medium work – exert up to 50 pounds of force continuously and up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.

Work environment

Proximity to moving mechanical parts; exposure to noise, dust, high temperatures, heat from equipment, hot water, hot plastic, and heater bands. Protective gear may include hair net, safety glasses, earplugs, and gloves.
