Job summary

Platinum Dermatology Partners in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support busy Plastic Surgery clinics with pre- and post-operative care, injections, and office procedures. You will assist in cosmetic and reconstructive treatments, document histories, and prepare exam rooms, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in a medical office, coursework or certification as a Medical Assistant, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Medical Assistant training is required.
  • Certification preferred (e.g., CMA, dermatology technician, or surgical assistant).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office as a medical assistant.
  • Experience in plastic surgery, cosmetic procedures, or operating room settings is required.
  • Knowledge of medical plastic surgery terms/CPT, ICD-10.
  • Friendly, energetic personality with strong customer service skills.
  • Quality written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist busy Plastic Surgery clinic with diverse patient types including pre-operative and post-operative cosmetic and reconstructive surgery patients, assist in-office procedures including skin cancer reconstructions, cosmetic injectables (Botox, filler), and smaller scale cosmetic surgeries including (fat transfer, laser resurfacing, chemical peels, liposuction, radio frequency/micro needling and hair transplantation).
  • Phlebotomy for PRP procedures.
  • Escort patients to and from the exam room, help them prepare for the exam/procedure, gather and chart intake history, scribe the office visit, and enter prescriptions into the EMR.
  • Perform injections, suture removals, and other patient treatments.
  • Educate patients and respond to questions in the office/on the phone as needed.
  • Document all medical instructions given to patients.
  • Proper photos and consent for procedure completed.
  • Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
