Westlake Plastics is seeking an Extrusion Operator - Setup for the 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm) in Lenni, PA. The role focuses on setting up single screw extruders, recording in-process data, and ensuring resin and process conditions meet specifications.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in plastics extrusion or a technical training background, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate hand and power tools safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of plastics extrusion experience or technical training in mechanical applications.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate hand/power tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Set up single screw extruders and maintain setup records.
• Record running conditions and process changes; ensure products meet specifications.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety in the extrusion area; care for tooling and equipment.
• Monitor shop orders and resin types used in each job; verify resin entries.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and proper setup of extruders.

Extrusion Operator - Setup Operations (2nd Shift 2:00pm - 10:30pm) Lenni, PA

Extrusion machine operator – Setup operator duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Clean and setup single screw extruders
• Maintain setup and accurate in-process records
• Record running conditions and process change
• Assure material is being manufactured to the required specification
• Take care of tooling and equipment during the setup of an extruder
• Monitor cut off sheets and shop orders that are running and being setup
• Confirm correct type and amount of resin is entered into each job
• Maintain housekeeping in extrusion area
• Maintain all safety requirements

Requirements

• Demonstrated mechanical ability
• Proper use of hand and power tools
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License
• Job experience (>2 years) in a manufacturing setting or graduation from a technical training school in a mechanical application
• Knowledge in the safe operation of the following equipment: horizontal lathes of all sizes, portable resurfacing machines and drill presses
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
