Northwest State Community College in Archbold, Ohio, seeks a qualified part-time Plastics Engineering Technology Instructor to teach college-level courses in person at our Archbold campus.

The successful candidate will instruct students, supervise classroom and laboratory activities, and evaluate progress, drawing on hands-on plastics industry experience to connect theory with practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering Technology, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or closely related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the plastics industry (injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming, materials/compounding, tooling, or process engineering).
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in polymer materials, processing methods, quality control, and/or mold design.
  • Ability to teach in a hands-on laboratory environment and translate industry practice into classroom instruction.
  • Prior teaching or apprenticeship instruction experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Northwest State Community College is seeking a qualified part-time Plastics Engineering Technology Instructor to teach college-level courses in person at our Archbold, OH campus.


This position is responsible for instructing students, supervising classroom and laboratory activities, and evaluating student progress. The successful candidate must be an experienced practitioner in the plastics industry who is prepared to provide leadership and industry expertise within the Plastics Engineering Technology program.



  • The qualified applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering Technology, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of recent, hands-on experience in the plastic’s industry (injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming, materials/compounding, tooling, or process engineering).

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in polymer materials, processing methods, quality control, and/or mold design

  • Ability to teach in a hands-on laboratory environment and translate industry practice into classroom instruction

  • Prior teaching or apprenticeship instruction experience is preferred.
