PLASTICS Process Engineer – Blow Molding – California

Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 + Excellent Benefits & Paid Relocation to NORTHERN California

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN 2-stage (Sipa, Sidel, FlexBlow, Krones)

This PLASTICS Process Engineer position requires a candidate who will provide their technical expertise for instructing and guiding others on the processes and procedures regarding setup, mold & tooling installation on blow molding – extrusion machines such as Uniloy reciprocating, Bekum shuttles with multi-layer co-extrusion, Sidel SB0 model, and specifically SIPA SX1 & SX2 2 Stage.

In this position, you would make recommendations on tooling size, design, and shape. Support production facilities with cycle time improvements. Utilize LEAN Manufacturing, statistics, SPC, six sigma, 5S, problem solving, and root cause analysis. Implement Preventative maintenance planning procedures. Work closely with the design team on concept design and improvements. Provide professional process engineering knowledge on do’s and don’ts of designing an efficiently moldable product. Set up blow molding machine – including tooling, molds, blow pins, materials, and downstream equipment. Ability to repair, replace pneumatic, hydraulic components is a plus.

Minimum requirements for this PLASTICS Blow Molding Process Engineer position:

1. Technical, AAS, or BS degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in SIPA SX1 & SX2 2-stage machines, producing 5-gallon, PET water bottles
3. 2-stage (Sipa, Sidel, FlexBlow, Krones) experience needed
4. Understanding of processes with PET and anti-stat/slip agent additives a plus.
