Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon

VHMC/Valleywise Health Medical Center: Phoenix, Arizona

District Medical Group (DMG), one of the largest multi-specialty medical groups in Metropolitan Phoenix, has an immediate practice opportunity for a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon.

The Surgery Department staffs Valleywise Health System (VHS) at Valleywise Health Medical Center (VHMC), a 270-bed academic community hospital designated as ACS and a State of Arizona Level I Adult Trauma/Level I Burn Center. VHMC is an urban teaching hospital with a fully accredited ACGME General Surgery Residency, and the Plastic Surgery Division also hosts resident rotators from the Mayo Clinic Plastic Surgery Residency. DMG is a faculty partner in the Creighton University Medical School educational alliance. DMG surgeons operate and round at a new VHMC hospital facility that opened in 2024.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient general plastic and reconstructive surgery services in elective and emergent care settings
• Share call coverage
• Teach residents
• Participate in collaborative research activities and refine and extend existing plastic surgery services
• Practice with a team approach for patient management

Qualifications

• Completed Plastic Surgery residency training and board certified or board eligible
• Expertise with Maxillofacial Trauma and Microvascular surgery
• Comfortable managing the full range of plastic and reconstructive surgery patients
• Previous faculty experience in an academic environment is preferred
