Job description

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Working with the project launch team you will review the project input, set milestone dates and define the required outputs.
• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and final designs.
• Interface with Project Managers and customers to resolve any product or mold design related issues.
• Review the product models and drawing for mold-ability, recommend modifications.
• Access product drawings for tight tolerance areas and recommend design or manufacturing approach.
• Coordinate with other team members the required resources to maintain milestones.
• Provide models or drawings to vendors as required.
• Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOM).
• Create Mold Drawings as needed.
• Provide weekly updates as to the progress of all projects assigned.
• Be a willing and active participant in continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of hands‑on plastic injection mold design experience.
• Strong working knowledge of injection mold design concepts, practices, and procedures; ability to design molds that incorporate the latest or common technologies including thin wall technology, two‑shot mold design, Stack molds, and high‑volume tool design.
• 3D CAD experience with Siemens NX preferred, but experience with other CAD software is acceptable.
• Knowledge of the latest technologies in manufacturing efficiencies; including how to integrate CAM software with machining equipment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively communicate to all levels within an organization.
• Basic understanding of Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Minimal Travel requirements.
