Job summary

Threaded Fasteners, Inc. in Semmes, AL, is seeking a Plasma Table Operator to execute daily production tasks under the supervision of the Production Manager or Team Leader.

You will ensure the plasma table has the correct program, monitor operation, inspect finished parts for grade, thickness and size, perform routine maintenance, manage inventory of drop material, and follow safety and housekeeping rules. • Knowledge of each machine and their functions.
• Reading, writing and math skills are essential; math for precise measurements and calculations.
• Skills in reading blueprints, fabrication and welding.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plan based on specifications.
• Knowledge of overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

• Readies table for production.
• Checks to be sure the machine has the appropriate computer program and necessary tools.
• Monitors machine during use to address any problems and adjusts as needed.
• Inspect the finished product to ensure specifications have been met. This includes grade, thickness, and size, as well as other key measurements.
• Performs daily inspections using quality checkpoints before and after use along with weekly and monthly preventative maintenance.
• Measures and keeps useable drop material and records thickness, grade, and dimensions. To help keep track of inventory.
• Alert the supervisor to any concerns or problems with the machine.
• Assures their assignments are completed on time.
• Responsible for safety and housekeeping of their area.
• Fills out paperwork according to manager instructions.
• Uses forklifts to load and carry material.
