Job summary

Olympic Steel is seeking a Machine Operator to safely set up and run automated equipment for leveling and stacking flat sheets to meet customer specifications. You will interpret orders and engineered layouts, ensuring product quality and adherence to procedures in a fast-paced plant environment.

Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and able to operate cranes or lifting devices with basic math and computer skills, contributing to a reliable, safe production line.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent preferred.
• Mechanically inclined and safety-conscious.
• Knowledge of crane operation and lifting devices is preferred.
• Basic math skills required.
• Self-motivated with ability to work under supervision.
• Detail-oriented with ability to inspect material quality.
• Functional literacy with basic computing skills.
• Experience with precision instruments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate leveling, sheeting, and console equipment to level length and stack sheet metal per customer specs.
• Read customer orders and engineered layouts and follow general instructions to complete tasks.
