Olympic Steel is hiring a Laser Operator in Plymouth, MN for the 3:00pm–11:00pm shift. You will cut parts with the laser, verify quality, and remove finished pieces from the cutting table. The role requires mechanical aptitude, basic math, and attention to detail, with the chance to grow within a large metal products company.

Pay range is $27.50–$28.50 per hour with benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, and tuition reimbursement. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Measured machined features with precision instruments.
• Mechanically inclined, safety-conscious and quality-focused.
• General knowledge of crane operation and lifting devices.
• Basic math skills required.
• Self-motivated with ability to work under supervision.
• Detail-oriented with ability to inspect material for quality conformance.
• Functional literacy.
• Working knowledge of general computer programs.
• Experience with precision instruments preferred.
• Ability to work 2nd shift, 3:00pm - 11:00pm, M-F.

Responsibilities

• Operate laser to cut parts and properly remove/identify cutoff parts from the cutting table and packaging.
• Ensure proper nozzle selection, material checks, cut quality and product inspections.
• Maintain quality and quantity of parts produced from the table(s).
