Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is hiring a Plasma Center Nurse to screen and advise donors, determine eligibility, and support plasma center operations. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
• Current CPR and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and medical emergencies per SOPs, including center physician standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER; reference EHS guidance.
• Potentially serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
