Job summary
Grantek in Portland is seeking a technically grounded engineer to own the full lifecycle of automation projects, from identifying opportunities with clients through design, development, to on-site commissioning and handover. You will be Grantek’s local representative in the Portland area, building and maintaining client relationships and translating client needs into actionable proposals and technical solutions.
A strong PlantPAx DCS background and hands-on development work are essential.
Qualifications
- Degree in engineering or related field with hands-on DCS experience.
- Strong knowledge of PlantPAx DCS and Studio 5000 is preferred.
- Familiarity with alarm management and batch control is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 15–30% across USA and Canada.
Responsibilities
- Represent Grantek locally in Portland, build client relationships and uncover project opportunities.
- Develop technical proposals including scope, budgets, and timelines.
- Manage projects from conception through commissioning and handover.
- Contribute hands-on to PlantPAx DCS development and object configuration.
- Create and maintain PLC/PAC programs and HMI/SCADA visualizations.
- Communicate status, milestones, and deliverables to clients and team.
