Keymark is actively interviewing and hiring for the role of Waste Water Treatment Operators for Night Shift at our Fonda, NY manufacturing plant.

No experience is required; we will train you!

Your paid training period may be scheduled on the first or second shift for about a month. Once you have completed training, and if working second shift, you will be eligible for differential pay!

• Base Hourly Pay Starting at $20- $23/hr
• Night / Second Shift Differential + $1.50/hr

Scope of Work:

Operates automated wastewater-treatment system to reduce chrome and remove sludge from chrome phosphate solution to prepare for discharge into waterways.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitor control panel and maintain levels of waste and chemicals in tanks.
• Test samples for pH and chrome, record readings, and take corrective action.
• Move supplies and sludge using hand trucks and drum carts.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain equipment.
• Keep records including logbook of daily activities, requisitions of supplies, and chemical consumption.

Other Responsibilities:

• Read and understand system manuals, prints, layout, and proper flows.
• Identify waste streams and their proper disposal/treatment methods.
• Respond to and control chemical hazards within the facility.
• Understand process solutions and their impacts on the system.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of permit limitations and acceptable discharge standards.
• Understanding of water treatment operational practices.
• Basic to medium mathematical skills (ratios).
• Flexibility to work different schedules as needed.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration.

Problem Solving:

• Fix chemical leaks and adjust treatments.
• Respond to emergencies following protocol.

Working Conditions:

• 98% indoors, 2% outdoors.
• Work in extreme heat and temperature variations.
• Physical labor involved.
