Job summary

Luminant Power LLC is seeking a Plant Operator to maintain and troubleshoot equipment at a gas plant. You will perform daily maintenance, calibrations, and repairs while supporting safe operating practices on shift.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years related experience in plant operations
• Tier 2 qualification for position
• High School diploma or equivalent
• State license as recognized by governing body (MA, OH)
• Computer-based skills

• POSS/MASS program eligibility requirement

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance, overhauls, calibration, troubleshooting and repair/replacement of plant equipment
• Troubleshoot and document issues, assist in problem resolution on shift
• Develop and implement plant operating procedures
• Ensure adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures
• Operate material handling equipment and understand equipment-plant systems relationship
• Provide instruction to lower level staff as needed
• Promote safe, reliable plant operations and continuous improvement

Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.Job DescriptionKey Accountabilities:•Proficient in primary skill required of position•Proficient skills for maintaining equipment at the plant•Performs troubleshooting and documentation, and assists in the resolution of problems discovered on shift•Performs daily maintenance, overhauls, calibration, troubleshooting, repair/replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and systems.•Makes decisions and recommends appropriate repair techniques for plant equipment to peers, supervisors, plant management.•Conducts excitation system inspections and preventive maintenance•Proficient in operating material handling equipment•Develops and implements plant operating procedures•Understands relationship of equipment to plant systems•May provide instruction and teaching to lower level employees•Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPEEducation, Experience, and Skill Requirements:•4 -6 years related experience•Satisfactory completion of Tier 2 within primary skill for position job performance measure•Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent•If applicable, candidate will hold the required level of state license as recognized by the governing body of that particular state (MA, OH)•Demonstrate computer based skills•Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills•Independent knowledge of troubleshooting•All applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position.
