Plant T1 Tufting | Process Technician | 3rd Shift

Position Overview

Position Overview:

Position Objective: To assist the Tile Cutting Process Engineer with creating process specs, training, running and gathering data for trials, and conducting quality/downtime investigations.

Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility.)

  • Write and update procedures for the department
  • Assist the technical team with XRs, MTRs, or new potential products being ran and provide feedback on them
  • Coordinate and schedule training
  • Aid in quality, safety, and downtime investigations
  • Provide assistance with die changes and line changeovers
  • Work on process or quality improvement projects
  • Manage corrective actions
  • Assist in performing PM’s or routine maintenance as needed
  • Recognize individual training needs and address appropriately
  • Plan and train on SMS
  • Aid in updating weekly dashboards
  • Ensure line processing requirements are being met

Non-Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility.)

  • Assist in long range planning activities and projects
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments
  • Prioritize work to maximize benefits
  • Attend meetings as necessary
  • Serve on teams/committees as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Travel between facilities
  • Ability to communicate with individuals and groups
  • Ability to remain in one position for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to read and comprehend reports, literature, instructions in order to communicate to others and apply to the task requirements
  • Ability to attend seminars and report/act on findings
  • Work in plant environment (high heat and humidity, automated equipment, labor intensive)
  • Ability to maneuver in and around equipment to make equipment improvements and inspections continuously throughout a 8 hour day
  • Must be capable of travelling throughout plant - approximately 3 miles per day
  • Must be able to distinguish color.
  • Must be able to distinguish texture variation through sight and touch.
