Job summary

Luminant Power LLC in Midlothian, TX is seeking a Plant Supervisor to support operation and maintenance of generating stations. The role may require travel to other Luminant sites to support station operations.

Responsibilities include supervising multi-skill teams, ensuring safe, compliant operations, coordinating projects, and responding to emergencies. Strong planning, leadership, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
  • 5-7 years of power generation plant experience.
  • Experience using Maximo for planning work, creating purchase requests, and creating job plans.
  • Experience with WST, the preferred scheduling tool used by Luminant.
  • Experience with operations and maintenance at a power plant, particularly control operator experience on a drum boiler would be preferred.
  • Technical background in Instrumentation and Control is a plus.
  • Power generation plant supervision, leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills preferred.
  • Good computer skills using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with PMMS and/or Maximo programs preferred.

  • Manage employee/labor relations in accordance with company policies and labor agreements where applicable.
  • Ensure and monitor safety and environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, administrative and procedural compliance, and documentation.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of special projects.
  • Respond to emergency call out situations and assist in troubleshooting of system problems.
  • Interface frequently with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Plan and schedule your teams tasks daily, plan outage tasks to be executed, and coordinate with Mechanical supervisor.

Job Summary

The Plant Supervisor is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of Luminant Power Generating Stations. The position may require some travel in the support of other Luminant Power Generating Stations.


Key Accountabilities


  • Supporting all aspects of the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a generating station

  • Accountability does include supervising and directing multi-skill production and maintenance support personnel to achieve maximum reliable and safe operation of the generating units

  • Effectively manage employee/labor relation in accordance with company policies and labor agreements where applicable

  • Ensure and monitor safety and environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, administrative and procedural compliance, and documentation

  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of special projects

  • Supervisor may be asked to respond to emergency call out situations and assist in trouble shooting of system problems

  • Interface frequently with outside vendors and contractors

  • Planning and Scheduling your teams tasks daily, planning outage tasks to be executed, and working well with the Mechanical supervisor to plan jobs that require both departments to execute.


Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements


  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required

  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to some of the skills listed

  • 5-7 years of power generation plant experience required

  • Candidate must be experienced in using Maximo for planning work, creating purchase requests, and creating job plans

  • Candidate must be experienced in WST, the preferred scheduling tool used by Luminant

  • Experience with operations and maintenance at a power plant particularly control operator experience on a unit with a drum boiler is preferred

  • Technical background or Instrumentation and Control background is a plus

  • Power generation plant supervision, leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills preferred

  • Good computer skills using Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Experience in computer maintenance management systems and an understanding of PMMS and/or Maximo programs preferred
