Job summary

Martinsville Health and Rehab Center is seeking a Director of Maintenance to lead the department and ensure the facility operates in full compliance with regulations and company standards.

You will read and interpret blueprints, manage maintenance staff, and coordinate projects across the campus to maintain safety and reliability of systems and equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledgeable of local building codes and ordinances.

POSITION SUMMARY The DIRECTOR of MAINTENANCE is responsible for the overall operation of the maintenance department ensuring all laws, regulations and Company standards are met. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in office as well as throughout facility (i.e., resident rooms, therapy rooms, dietary) Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hours Subject to frequent interruptions Involved with residents, associates, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions and circumstances Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc. Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends and in other positions temporarily as necessary Subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the work day Possible exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses Stands and walks inside and outside in all weather EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must have high school diploma or equivalent Must have a minimum of two (2) years maintenance experience Must have proven knowledge of various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints Must be knowledgeable of local building codes and ordinances SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action Must be knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing maintenance functions in the long-term care facility Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the maintenance department
