Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. seeks a Production Supervisor for the 3rd Shift in Des Moines, IA. The role focuses on overseeing the timely flow of raw materials into finished products and ensuring equipment is well maintained.

You will coordinate with Maintenance to minimize downtime, lead safety initiatives, and drive continuous improvement across plant operations. The position requires at least 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing and the ability to work rotating weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory/management experience.
• Minimum 2 years in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work rotating weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Observe all safety rules and participate in safety meetings with plant staff.
• Maintain efficient flow of raw materials to finished products.
• Oversee equipment used to process materials and ensure it is in good working order.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to repair downtime promptly.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives in all areas of responsibility.
• Achieve department targets and objectives.
• Assist in accident investigations and propose recommendations to the Plant Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

The Production Supervisor 3rd Shift is responsible for overseeing the timely and efficient flow of raw materials into high-quality finished products; may also include ensuring that equipment is maintained and in good repair.

Duties/Responsibilities include

• Responsible for observing all Company safety rules and regulations, recognize safety as top Company priority and conduct/participate regularly scheduled safety meetings with plant staff.
• Maintain efficient and timely flow of all raw materials received and finished products shipped.
• Oversee the equipment used to process raw & finished materials is kept in good working order.
• Effectively manage all instances of breakdowns and coordinates with Maintenance to ensure needed repairs are made in timely manner.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in all areas of responsibility.
• Responsible for achieving individual and department targets, goals and objectives.
• Responsible for observing all Company safety rules and regulations, recognize safety as top Company priority and conduct/participate regularly scheduled safety meetings with plant staff.
• Assist in conducting investigation of accidents that occur within jurisdiction and makes recommendations to Plant Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned by management.
