Job summary

Tenneco Inc. in Iowa seeks an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead hourly production teams on a single shift. You will ensure maximum efficiency, coordinate staffing, and oversee equipment maintenance within a safe, compliant environment.

The role requires 2–3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, with a high school diploma or equivalent required and a bachelor’s degree preferred. Union experience is a plus, and you will conduct training and performance reviews regularly.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a union environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assure maximum efficiency and quality is attained.
• Coordinates and monitors scheduling of the personnel to ensure proper staffing.
• Coordinating the repair of equipment along with adhering to the preventative maintenance schedule.
• Assuring all employees adhere to all plant rules and policies and administering disciplinary actions when required.
• Ensures accurate and correct reporting of production, scrap, and any other required data for their respective shift.
• Provide on-the-job training with the completion of training documentation.
• Ensures employees are adhering to all quality procedures and documents including but not limited filling out check sheets, setup approvals, and 5S sheets.
• Communicates and interacts effectively with department employees, Plant Manager, support services and all levels of management to ensure smooth operation of the process.
• Monitors the work area to ensure that a safe and clean environment is maintained.
• Complete employee performance appraisals and initiate corrective action where needed
• Ensures healthy employee environment and promptly report and resolve issues with respect to HR guidelines.
