HOURS OF ROLE

1st Shift, 6 AM - 2 PM and every other Saturday, 6 AM - 6 PM

DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Serve as acting security guard for assigned campus and shift. Oversee and maintain the guard house at plant entrance, maintaining a clean and orderly workstation and keeping and securing relevant documentation, i.e. sign-in sheets, contractor information, etc. Ensure only authorized employees or third parties are allowed to access the premises.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain post at guard house at all times and ensure only authorized parties are allowed on company premises.
  • Oversee sign-in/out process for temporary workers and maintain related documentation in a neat and organized fashion.
  • Check truck drivers in and out at the facility by completing initial documentation, verifying seals, assigning them to dock doors, scheduling load/unload pick-up times, and coordinating shipments between plants.
  • Conduct temperature checks on refrigerated trailers
  • Ensure all third parties (visitors, contractors, service providers, etc.) are authorized to be on the premises and sign in and out each time they enter the premises.
  • Issue visitor or contractor badges when directed by Plant SHS Manager.
  • Check training status in ISN.
  • Contacts SCPC representative for contractors.
  • Conduct contractor training.
  • Provide required permits.
  • Conduct regular checks on safety items, including, but not limited to, first aid cabinets, AEDs, eyewash stations, and emergency lights.
  • Take incoming calls to the plant as needed and transfer to the appropriate contact.
  • Provide support on emergency response matters by assisting with contractor headcounts, monitoring inclement weather warnings, and assisting HAZMAT teams as needed.
  • Serve as a “rally point coordinator” when Plant or Corporate SHS is performing a building sweep.
  • Assist with maintaining master safety training lists and Schedule safety trainings.
  • Respond to reported or suspected security issues and complete incident reporting forms when needed.
  • Monitor S2.
  • Audit S2 for photos. Take photos for missing employees and send to HR.
  • Assist with maintaining chemical management system.
  • Assist with maintaining physical LOTO binder(s).
  • Review incident forms for completeness and accuracy.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies.
  • Follow SugarCreek safety rules and procedures. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in safety/security related role; training in security preferred.
Certification or Licensure Requirements: None at time of hire, but most be willing to obtain necessary certification/licensures.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
No unusual physical requirements. Physical requirements are consistent with security positions, including some sitting with some standing/walking required. Other light physical activity like using stairs or occasionally moving items weighing less than 40lbs may be required as needed. Some travel may be required in between plants.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Some travel to other locations may be required.

Most work is performed in a comfortable, indoor, guard shack at the entrance of the facility. Very little work is performed in an indoor, manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Safety wear is required, including hard hat, hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe boots, coats and other necessary equipment. Some work is performed outside of the manufacturing facility.
