Job summary

Tindall Corporation, a leading precast concrete manufacturer, seeks an experienced EHS professional to lead safety, health, and environmental initiatives across divisions. You will develop safety programs, manage incident investigations, and coordinate audits and compliance efforts at plant and field sites.

Requirements include a college degree and 5–7 years of related experience. The role involves collaboration with HR and operations to maintain ISO standards and continuous safety improvements

Qualifications

  • College Degree (4 year) required.
  • 5 to 7+ years related experience required.
  • Familiarity with OSHA/EHS standards and audits preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop written job safety task/process documentation with focus on injury prevention and silica exposure.
  • Coordinate and manage workers' compensation claims; liaise with insurance adjusters.
  • Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents for root cause analysis and hazard elimination.
  • Assist project management with safety-related items (contracts, safety manuals, JHA, etc.).
  • Serve as primary contact for EHS compliance audits (OSHA, EPA).
  • Conduct and track safety meetings and trainings for branch employees.
  • Review, audit and update safety manuals annually; emphasize silica control plans.
  • Collect, submit and manage environmental programs (storm water, air, etc.).
  • Prepare and organize safety documents for auditing.
  • Manage activities of the plant safety committee.
  • Assist HR with drug testing as needed.
  • Conduct air monitoring to ensure silica exposure <= OSHA limits; coordinate process changes.
  • Rewrite, retrain and audit safety, health and environmental controls.
  • Assist plant with ISO certification.

Summary of Primary Functions

Provides technical safety, health and environmental support to all Division personnel, including plant and field operations, through the development and coordination of safety and environmental programs, objectives and training plans to ensure compliance with federal and state safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.

  • Develop written job safety task/process documentation for all tasks with a focus on injury prevention with a special emphasis on silica exposure; complete training on all safety processes then audit processes for compliance to documented procedures.

  • Coordinate and manage all work comp claims, attend doctor visits, be the key contact with insurance claims adjusters.

  • Investigate all accidents and near miss incidences with the goal of root cause identification and hazard elimination.

  • Assist project management with field safety related items, including but not limited to completion of contracts, safety manuals, job hazard analysis (JHA)s etc.

  • Be the primary contact for all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance audits (OSHA, EPA, etc.).

  • Conduct and track all safety meetings & trainings for all branch employees.

  • Ensure contractors working in the plant are conforming to Tindall safety guidelines, submitting proper safety documentation and doing process audits.

  • Review, audit and update safety manuals for both plant and field operations annually; emphasis on confined space, lockout/tagout machine specific procedures and silica control plans for both plant and field operations.

  • Collect, submit and manage all environmental programs and oversee the monthly meetings for these programs; storm water, air, etc.

  • Prepare, maintain and organize all safety documents (i.e. training records, safety programs, inspection records, etc.) for auditing.

  • Manage all activities of the plant safety committee.

  • Assist HR with drug testing, as needed.

  • Compete necessary air monitoring (sampling) to ensure silica exposure is controlled and are below the prescribed OSHA levels and coordinate with management on process changes to control exposure.

  • Rewrite, retrain and audit all process changes related to safety, health, and environmental controls.

  • Assist the plant with achieving and maintaining ISO certification.

Education

College Degree (4 year) is required.

Experience

5 to 7 (+) years prior or related experience is required.
