Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Maintenance Engineer Leader to drive maintenance execution across plant and external properties, focusing on predictive and preventive maintenance, spare parts, scheduling and cost control. You will lead a technical team to optimize PM programs, review critical assets, and manage small capital projects using CMMS and AutoCAD tools.

The role requires strong leadership, DMAIC/Kaizen experience, RCA expertise, and a track record in food industry maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering or equivalent technical manufacturing experience
• 2+ years of supervisory experience with direct reports
• 2+ years of maintenance engineer experience
• Demonstrated leadership skills within a technical team
• Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• RCA training or equivalent
• Led multiple RCAs with cross functional team
• Experience with troubleshooting operation/maintenance of food processing and utilities systems
• Proficient in MS Office including Visio and Projects
• Proficient in planning, scheduling, work order, inventory control, and purchasing functions of CMMS
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or 3D modeling software
• 5+ years of technical experience in the food industry on preventive/predictive maintenance
• Exposure to predictive maintenance programs

Responsibilities

• Optimize the scope and timeline for equipment overhauls
• Develop execution plans, manpower and schedules for overhauls and shutdown activities
• Lead interactions with planning/scheduling, inventory control and maintenance purchasing teams
• Analyze PM program condition and prioritize gaps
• Manage the PM program for all equipment, building and facilities via CMMS
• Oversee PM review process of critical assets and ROI understandings
• Utilize AutoCAD to analyze P&IDs and layouts
• Maintain equipment and facility drawings
• Assist in development and tracking of maintenance budget
• Manage small capital projects with documented improvements
• Lead troubleshooting activities for the technical team
• Oversee storeroom to ensure policy adherence and parts availability
• Inventory optimization cycle of storeroom
• Manage RCA process and ensure actions tracked
• Use KDT to identify reliability failures and drive improvements
• Drive reliability improvements for production line
• Lead DMAIC Kaizen process
• Analyze maintenance KPI metrics and develop improvement plans
• Manage predictive maintenance program execution and ROI quantification
• Participate in OKEA audits and demonstrate improvements
• Work cooperatively in high-paced environments
• Provide honest and constructive communication
• Support interactions involving minors, individuals with special needs, or older adults
• Supervise and coach direct reports with performance reviews
