Job summary

Confidential is seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to lead plant-wide quality systems and processes for stamped and welded automotive components. The role manages 11 direct reports and owns the quality management system, serving as the main contact for customer quality matters and audits.

The ideal candidate will strengthen the team through training, coaching, and mentoring, ensuring thorough documentation and effective corrective actions across production, engineering, and maintenance functions

Qualifications

• Experience in a Tier-1 automotive manufacturing environment producing stamped and welded components.
• Hands-on knowledge of IATF 16949 and plant-level quality management systems.
• Strong root cause analysis, corrective action, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train, mentor, and develop a quality team.
• Experience supporting customer interactions and audits.

Responsibilities

• Own, maintain, and improve the plant’s quality management system in accordance with IATF 16949 standards and customer requirements.
• Lead, coach, and develop 11 direct reports across quality engineering, customer liaison, CMM, cut/etch, laboratory, technician, and auditing functions.
• Provide hands‑on quality leadership on the production floor, supporting stamped and welded automotive components.
• Strengthen the team’s understanding and consistent use of existing quality systems and processes.
• Serve as the plant’s quality contact for customers and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Lead root cause investigations, corrective actions, and verification of their effectiveness.
• Maintain quality documentation, records, and compliance across the facility.
• Partner with production, engineering, and maintenance to resolve quality concerns and drive continuous improvement.
