Job summary

Food Management Search, Inc. seeks a Plant Quality Lead to oversee quality activities and lead the Quality Engineering team at our Warren, MI facility. The role ensures compliance with customer requirements, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and internal quality objectives, driving continuous improvement and preventing defects.

The position collaborates with Operations and Engineering, leads audits, corrective actions, and data-driven quality improvements to achieve top-tier plant performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred
• 5+ years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing or supplier environment
• Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory or people-management experience
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and automotive customer requirements
• Experience leading and developing Quality Engineers
• Experience managing customer quality issues, audits, and corrective actions

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the plant Quality Engineering team
• Oversee daily quality activities to ensure processes meet requirements
• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System per IATF 16949 and customer requirements
• Lead resolution of customer complaints, corrective actions, and 8D responses
• Oversee APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA activities
• Monitor quality metrics like PPM, scrap, rework, and cost of poor quality
• Lead internal, external, and customer audits
• Partner with Operations and Engineering to drive process improvements
• Communicate quality performance and improvement initiatives to plant leadership
• Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement
