Job summary

Stellantis is seeking a Plant Quality Engineer (PQE) for Wiring Systems at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant. You will own product conformity for wiring systems and collaborate with plant and corporate personnel to drive projects in this area.

The role focuses on validating product changes, addressing quality issues on the shop floor, and leading continuous improvement initiatives using FMEA and other risk assessment tools to ensure customer satisfaction.

• Experience in manufacturing-quality engineering, with a track record of improving product conformity.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA and RCA processes.

Responsibilities

• Validate product changes and provide technical expertise to improve outgoing quality.
• Respond to manufacturing quality issues with integrity and drive corrective actions.
• Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives using problem-solving methods.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to meet project timing.
• Review quality metrics and drive action on GIMs/S2IRIUS to protect customers.
• Lead teams to identify design/process risks and implement effective mitigations.

Job description

The Plant Quality Engineer (PQE) for Wiring Systems - Responsible for all aspects of product conformity for their systems / components (internal or external vehicle harnesses) at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant. The PQE reports directly to the Electrical PQE Lead and will build effective relationships with both salaried and hourly, assembly plant/corporate personnel, in order to complete projects within their area of responsibility.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Validating product changes, providing technical expertise, and improving outgoing quality that will meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.
• With unquestioned integrity and strength of conviction, the PQE responds to manufacturing quality issues and manages all product changes.
• Through the usage of advanced problem-solving methods and SPW kaizen methodology, the PQE supports all continuous quality improvement initiatives within the plant.
• PQE must work collaboratively with cross-functional manufacturing teams and facilitates consensus and drive action from the main stakeholders.
• Support external quality Key Performance Indicators (KPI) management for achieving targets, driving improvement/corrective actions and escalation
• Heavy focus on external metrics (GIMs / S2IRIUS) requiring leading a team to drive resolution on the shop floor to implement Interim Corrective and Permanent Corrective Actions (ICA & PCA) to protect the customer
• Review warranty/Customer Quality Insight (CQI) claims daily, maintain issue stratification and maintain the portion of Warranty Wall responsible for their area.
• Lead improvement activities in vehicle quality by addressing nonconformity to meet quality targets
• Support Corporate Quality objectives/deliverables and communicate requirements to all groups involved to ensure goals are achieved.
• Collaborate and lead internal and external resources to achieve project/program timing.
• Lead teams to identify issues/risks associated with product designs, processes and applications by utilizing FMEA’s and other risk assessment tools.
