Job summary

The Step2 Company in Streetsboro, OH is seeking a Quality Management lead to champion the QMS and drive continuous quality improvements across products and processes. You will oversee the plant Quality Control department, plan resources, and ensure compliance with cost, quality specs and KPIs.

You will guide quality systems, audits, and supplier coordination, while mentoring QC staff and coordinating with other departments to achieve world-class operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four-year technical degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' related work experience in quality assurance.
• Broad technical knowledge in the plastic industry, quality and engineering.
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a lean manufacturing environment - Agile & Kaizen
• Knowledge and experience in ISO 9000 - Documentation of processes, procedures, etc.
• Previous training, experience, or certification in quality auditing.
• MRP/ERP/Oracle experience and project management are critical.
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access & Powerpoint).
• Six Sigma Black Belt Certification a plus but not necessary.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and implement change.

Responsibilities

• Promote & drive opportunities for Quality improvement throughout organization by identifying root cause.
• Issue corrective/preventive actions, create, track and report on various key quality metrics/KPIs.
• Represent Quality in various product related meetings.
• Drive standardization and cost reductions.
• Measure through internal and external auditing.
• Develop and mentor plant QC personnel and inspectors to become future leaders within the Quality organization as part of succession planning.
• Provide guidance and coaching to utilize sound proven Quality principles to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop quality training, programs and regular cadence to utilize throughout the plant and organization.
• Perform annual performance reviews.
• Discipline and write up employees as necessary to correct poor performance.
