Job summary

Penn Color, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to lead capital projects across manufacturing sites, primarily in Hatfield, PA. This hands-on role requires coordinating with production, maintenance, and other teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to safety standards.

You will travel as needed to other US sites. The ideal candidate has a mechanical or electrical engineering background, 2+ years in capital projects, and strong CAD and PLC familiarity.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university (mechanical or electrical preferred).
• 2 years minimum in capital projects in an industrial setting; 5+ years preferred.
• OSHA/NFPA safety training/certifications such as OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E.
• Experience with industrial equipment and process instrumentation.
• Proficiency with PLC-based control systems and CAD tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 20–30%, including some international travel.
• Proficient with Autodesk tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of planning and delivery for assigned projects from concept through commissioning.
• Prepare, review, and approve engineering reports, RFPs, construction documents, and procedures.
• Perform capacity studies of plant utilities as needed.
• Manage vendors, contractors, and outside engineering firms to meet budgets and timelines.
• Act as a technical resource for internal customers on capital projects.
• Layout production lines using CAD for operator-centric functionality and safety.
