Job summary

LANXESS is hiring a Project Engineer in Charleston to deliver small to medium capital projects from concept through startup. You will manage scope, design teams, procurement, construction oversight, commissioning, and turnover while ensuring safety and cost discipline.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation teams and reliability groups, driving project excellence and robust plant equipment standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
• 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing, chemical, or process-based industrial environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact across the organization.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills and the ability to complete multiple complex assignments on budget and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead preliminary project studies including scope, estimates, and cost analysis.
• Provide project safety studies and manage HSE compliance.
• Oversee engineering procurement, construction, commissioning, startup and turnover.
• Coordinate multi-discipline project teams and contractors.
• Support reliability and maintenance projects with design input.
