Job summary

LANXESS is seeking a Project Engineer for its Charleston Plant to provide design expertise, manage capital projects from concept to turnover, and lead multi-discipline teams. You will coordinate engineering, procurement and construction, drive safety standards, and ensure on-time, on-budget completion of initiatives that enhance equipment reliability.

The role demands strong communication, leadership of contract personnel, and a proactive, results-driven mindset within a chemical manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in mechanical or chemical engineering or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of manufacturing, chemical, or process-based experience expected.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to interact across the organization.
• Proven leadership to manage contractors and personnel; drive multiple complex projects on budget and on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects from concept through start-up, commissioning and turnover.
• Oversee design teams, procurement, construction, and documentation.
• Manage safety, schedule, cost, and quality throughout project lifecycle.
• Provide technical support for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and reliability issues.
