Qualifications

• Plastics, EPS, thermoforming, foam, consumer products, or high-speed production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate multiple production lines, including foam, straw, cutlery, specialty product, and potentially extruder lines.
• Develop production schedules to maximize equipment utilization and meet customer commitments.
• Work closely with Production, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Corporate Planning teams.
• Monitor order flow and prioritize production based on customer demand and available capacity.
• Maintain appropriate raw material inventory levels to support production and customer service requirements.
• Communicate production schedules and significant changes to department managers and supervisors.
• Maintain a strong presence on the plant floor to monitor production progress and address scheduling issues.
• Coordinate procurement of raw materials, supplies, maintenance materials, and services.
• Prepare and place purchase orders based on inventory requirements and production schedules.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate pricing, freight, blanket orders, and service contracts.

NOW HIRING PLANT PRODUCTION LINE SCHEDULER

Location: Stone Mountain, GA

Work Environment: On-Site Manufacturing Plant

Reports To: Operations Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Plant Production Line Scheduler to coordinate production scheduling and material planning in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for scheduling multiple production lines to ensure customer demands and production goals are met. The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing experience, excellent organizational and analytical skills, and experience managing high-volume production with 500+ SKUs. Experience in plastics, thermoforming, foam, EPS, consumer products, or other high-speed manufacturing environments is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate multiple production lines, including foam, straw, cutlery, specialty product, and potentially extruder lines.
• Develop production schedules to maximize equipment utilization and meet customer commitments.
• Work closely with Production, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Corporate Planning teams.
• Monitor order flow and prioritize production based on customer demand and available capacity.
• Maintain appropriate raw material inventory levels to support production and customer service requirements.
• Communicate production schedules and significant changes to department managers and supervisors.
• Maintain a strong presence on the plant floor to monitor production progress and address scheduling issues.
• Support current products as well as new product introductions.
• Coordinate procurement of raw materials, supplies, maintenance materials, and services.
• Prepare and place purchase orders based on inventory requirements and production schedules.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate pricing, freight, blanket orders, and service contracts.
• Develop and maintain relationships with reliable, competitive, and service-oriented suppliers.
• Monitor material availability, pricing trends, and opportunities for cost savings.
• Coordinate receipt of materials and work with Accounts Payable to resolve documentation issues.
• Assist with the management of scrap, obsolete, and surplus materials.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, production, and administrative documentation.
• Analyze production data, identify constraints, and proactively resolve scheduling challenges.
• Participate in meetings, audits, and special projects as needed.
• Serve as a backup to Production Management when required.
• Promote teamwork, productivity, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the plant.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
• 10+ years of supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with 500+ SKUs strongly preferred.
• Manufacturing plant experience is required.
• Plastics, EPS, thermoforming, foam, consumer products, or high-speed production experience preferred.
• Strong production planning and scheduling experience.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to analyze data, prioritize competing demands, and make decisions quickly.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Hands‑on management style with the ability to work effectively with production teams, supervisors, managers, and leadership.
• Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English to complete required job documentation.

Work Schedule

This position is based in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Flexibility is required to support production needs, including:
Weekdays and weekends
Overtime as needed
Extended 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts when required

Physical & Work Environment

This is an on-site plant position with significant interaction on the production floor. The role may require:
Standing and walking for extended periods
Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
Moving or transporting materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Working around manufacturing machinery and moving mechanical equipment
Exposure to heat, cold, noise, odors, and airborne particles
Wearing required PPE, including hairnet, hearing protection, and safety glasses with side shields
Following all applicable safety, food safety, GMP, HACCP, and quality requirements
