Job summary

The Plant Phenomics Research Specialist at the University of Georgia will lead high-throughput phenotyping for turfgrass breeding at the Griffin Campus. You will operate UAVs and switch between RGB, multispectral, hyperspectral, and thermal sensing while coordinating field schedules and environmental conditions.

You will develop standardized, automated data-processing workflows, maintain data quality, and collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and external partners to advance breeding

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field of science.
• Master's degree preferred in plant science, crop science, agronomy, plant breeding, remote sensing or closely related field.
• Preference for experience operating unmanned aerial systems for agricultural or environmental research and FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and conduct high-throughput phenotypic data collection for turfgrass breeding and genetics research.
• Operate UAVs and RGB, multispectral, hyperspectral, thermal, X-ray sensing platforms.
• Coordinate data collection with trial schedules and environmental conditions.
• Develop reproducible workflows for data processing and quality assurance.
