Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Processing Facility Worker / Spotter to safely direct truck traffic and support daily debris processing operations at our Largo facility. This outdoor role offers year-round stability, with overtime opportunities and room to grow within Team Green.

You'll work Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–4:30 PM, with 50 hours/week and strong safety expectations. Prior skid-steer experience is a plus for this hands-on position.

Responsibilities

• Traffic Control & Spotting: Direct incoming and outgoing trucks safely.
• Debris Processing & Sorting: Identify, separate, and sort construction waste.
• Facility Maintenance: General yard cleanup and site upkeep.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Equipment Operation (if qualified): Assist with equipment maintenance and operation.

Properly identify waste materials unacceptable for disposal in the landfill and safely remove and separate Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Processing Facility Worker / Spotter. In this role, you will work outdoors directing incoming truck traffic and assisting in the daily operations of our construction debris processing facility. Schedule & Hours

• Work Days: Monday - Friday
• Hours: 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM (50 hours/week)
• Status: Full-Time, Year-Round
• Overtime: Regular year-round overtime opportunities available

Key Responsibilities

• Traffic Control & Spotting: Direct incoming and outgoing trucks safely around the facility floor and unloading areas.
• Debris Processing & Sorting: Identify, separate, and sort incoming construction waste materials to maintain site efficiency and safety standards.
• Facility Maintenance: Perform general yard clean-up, site maintenance, and keep operational areas clear of hazards.
• Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, wear required PPE, and proactively maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Equipment Operation (If Qualified): Assist with equipment maintenance and potentially operate machinery as needed.

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions (rain, heat, cold).
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and excellent attendance record.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written directions safely.
• Strong physical stamina, with the ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend throughout a full workday.

Preferred / Bonus

• Skid Steer Experience: Prior experience operating a skid steer (or similar heavy equipment like wheel loaders or backhoes) is a major plus!

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Outdoor operational setting in a fast-paced construction waste processing environment. Safety footwear and appropriate protective gear are required at all times.
