Job summary

US Aggregates is seeking a Plant Operator to help maintain production, maintenance, quality, and safety within the Operations function at our Indiana facilities.

The role requires hands-on operation of pumps and motors, welding and fabrication from blueprints, and proactive maintenance to support continuous plant performance. Flexibility to work varying shifts and a strong commitment to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• Must maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance.
• Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
• Read, write, and communicate in English & understand basic math.
• Complete all applicable documentation, recordkeeping and daily inventory.
• Participate in safety briefings, job briefings, and any other pass on information from team members, management or customer.
• Must be able to work with a team, take direction and follow work rules, as well as, take on additional job responsibilities as needed or assigned.
• Flexibility required; ability to work days, nights, weekends.
• Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform plant rounds; inspect, monitor, troubleshoot, performance test and document plant processes.
• Operate and adjust plant pumps, motors, feeders and other equipment to maintain operations.
• Use welding equipment to weld, braze, and cut as required.
• Determine proper rod selection for welding ferrous or non-ferrous material.
• Fabricate components from blueprints per instructions.
• Troubleshoot and repair bearings, speed reducers, shafts, pulleys, couplings, belts.
• Troubleshoot and repair crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
• Maintain plant maintenance including daily shoveling, sweeping and repairs to equipment.
• Maintain accurate records (activity, inventory, maintenance logs).
• Participate in safety training and complete required examinations.
• Follow all policies, procedures and safety rules.
• Recommend safer, more efficient operation changes.
• Additional duties as assigned.
