Job summary

Mesabi Metallics Company LLC in Minnesota is seeking a Plant Operator/Maintainer to supervise and support the Crusher, Concentrator, and Pellet Plant. This hybrid role combines plant operations with light maintenance to improve equipment reliability and production availability.

You will monitor systems, perform routine inspections, record data, and assist with startups and shutdowns while adhering to MSHA and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous mining/mineral processing or heavy industrial operations experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools.
• Experience performing minor mechanical maintenance activities preferred.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, procedures, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor equipment within the Crusher, Concentrator, and Pellet Plant.
• Perform routine inspections and document findings.
• Monitor control systems and respond to alarms or abnormal conditions.
• Assist with plant startups, shutdowns, and process adjustments.
• Record production data and shift activities; maintain communications with control room and maintenance teams.
