Airgas USA, LLC is seeking a Plant Operator in Lima, OH to support cylinder handling, filling, and packaging processes in a retail shop setting. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

The operator will load and unload cylinders, operate forklifts, prepare cylinders for filling, and ensure compliance with DOT/OSHA standards while maintaining quality control and documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing operation preferred; filling/loading experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with the gas, welding and safety supply or chemical industries is valued.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate equipment for handling and production of gas cylinders (high pressure and cryogenic).
• Load/unload cylinders and other products onto/off trucks; move cylinders with carts and forklift.
• Sort empty cylinders by type to keep workflow organized.
• Read cylinder labels and color-coding to identify contents; label cylinders accurately.
• Prepare cylinders for filling; attach to manifold and evacuate to remove contaminants.
• Perform safety checks per procedures (odor tests, caps and valves).
• Fill cylinders by pressure and weight per regulations; monitor quantities and styles.
• Maintain documentation to DOT, FDA, OSHA and Airgas standards; complete quality control sheets.
