Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Plant Operator for the 1st shift in Hattiesburg, MS. You will oversee the safe and efficient operation of our gas production facility, including cylinder filling and equipment care. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; 18+ years old.

Preferred experience in plant operations or industrial maintenance, plus forklift familiarity and a strong safety mindset. The role offers a Monday–Friday first shift with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Care for and steward equipment in the production facility, including compressors, pumps, filling stations, and forklifts.
• Engage in routine inspections and maintenance to keep equipment in excellent condition.
• Safely support the flow and transport of cylinders, including filling and quality checks, following safety guidelines.
• Operate equipment like a forklift to move materials and products safely and efficiently.
• Maintain records of equipment maintenance, cylinder tracking and production activities.
• Adhere to all safety protocols to foster a secure work environment.
• Participate in team meetings and safety initiatives to improve ways of working.
