Job summary

Daniels Health in Walton, KY is hiring a Plant Operator for our medical waste treatment facility. You will perform tasks including checking containers, weighing waste, loading/unloading, and operating a forklift to load an autoclave. We operate 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

This is a DIRECT HIRE, full-time role with benefits from day one. Must have a valid driver’s license, warehouse-labor experience, and willingness to pass a 5-panel drug screen and a 7-year background check.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass background checks.
• Experience in a warehouse or labor-intensive setting with repetitive lifting.
• Ability to read and record weights accurately and complete paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Lifting 55lbs bins and pushing a 200lbs cart; navigating the facility safely.
• Weigh incoming sharps and medical waste containers.
• Load/operate autoclave machine and Washsmart system for container processing.
• Maintain precise paperwork for container processing and tracking.
• Stand for extended periods and work well with a team.

We are looking to hire an operator for our Daniels' medical waste treatment facility in Walton, KY. A Plant Operator has a widely varying role, from checking in containers, double checking paperwork, moving/unloading specific waste containers, and operating a forklift to load an autoclave.

What will your job involve?

• Lifting 55lbs bins and push a four-wheeled cart that weighs as much as 200lbs
• Weigh incoming sharps and medical waste containers
• Load/operate our autoclave machine (a pressure chamber to melt materials)
• Load the Washsmart system (container washing + sanitization system)
• Provide attention to detail with the paperwork required to process containers
• Standing for extended periods of time happily and comfortably
• Working well with a team!

What are we looking for?

• Must have a VALID driver's license!!
• Previous experience in a warehouse labor-intensive job (repetitive lifitng of 50lbs to 75lb containers!!)
• Willingness to take a 5 panel urine drug screening
• Willingness to take a 7 year background check
• Basic math and ability to read/record weights accurately
• Familiarity with weighbridge/scale systems
• Comfort with repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in PPE
• Proven longevity with employers
• Can-do attitude!!
